In 1950 Ralph Kiner hit 47 home runs and drove in 118 for Pittsburgh. He batted .272, reached base at .408, and slugged .590 in 150 games, walking 122 times. The average was modest; the damage was not. Three cartoon frames still owe the long ball, the ribbies, and the walks. The box score does the talking. That is the whole summer in one line.
