About this park

Atlanta–Fulton County Stadium earned the Launching Pad nickname for a reason. Thin air and a park that leaned toward the bats turned ordinary flies into souvenirs and made Atlanta summers loud. Pitchers who survived here learned to miss barrels and live with contact; hitters walked to the plate expecting the ball to travel.
