Turner Field cooled the Launching Pad reputation into something closer to fair. After the old county stadium's free-flight years, this park asked for more honest contact. The downtown skyline watched; the fences did not hand out the same gifts. Braves clubs that thrived here usually thrived with pitching and timely bats, not altitude theater alone.
